Sebastian Calatrava, apart from designing the amazing City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, is in fact best known for his bridge designs. One of the most spectacular resides in Cadiz. There are a number of approach roads that allow you to get close to the bridge without having to risk life and limb while photographing it from the car or worse still a breakdown point on the bridge. This was taken from a conveniently located access road.

The challenge with capturing Cadiz bridge is all of the visual clutter behind the bridge associated with the port of Cadiz. The create the final image I had to spend many hours re-creating the areas behind the bridge that would have been unsightly and distracting clutter. I guess that fine art photography focuses on the mind’s eye of the photographer.

In this case, I was totally enraptured by the design and structure of this amazing bridge. I hope I have done it justice.
